Foust favors linoleum block printing to express her pictorial narratives to great success. She earned a BFA from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia in 1985. During her career, she has received a number of awards, including a grant from the Arts Council of Great Britain, plus assorted prizes at juried gallery shows and outdoor arts festivals. I have long been a fan of the complex worlds she creates with such simple, yet strong and perfectly placed lines. She differs from many practioners of this medium in this complexity; strong emotion rules her work, but it can be read in so many different ways. These small prints pack a whallop. Along with her art career, Foust is currently pursuing an MFA in creative writing. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for a graphic novel or two…..
