Emulating, enhancing and re-creating nature is the hard and worthwhile artwork of Jeremy Newman and Allison Ciancibelli. These glass artists live in the Pacific Northwest, and their art holds the spirit of that beautiful part of the world. The pieces are hand blown glass, which requires great strength and talent at this size. The work is only partially finished then; layers of colored glass are added, sometimes steel wool is wrapped on the hot glass, lines are carved, holes are made, and chemicals are applied to create a matte finish, which is what makes these pieces so natural and stone like. But they retain the translucent properties of glass and are otherworldly when penetrated by light. True rising stars on the glass scene, Jeremy and Allison are a team to watch.
