Hi, my name is......

Laura Jones. I started this weblog today, Friday, September 29, 2006 because I like to read and write about art. But mostly I like to look at art, and I hope this blog encourages you and everyone you know to look at art. And to buy art. Because art and artists won't survive if we don't buy their work. (This might be a good time to disclose the fact that my husband Rob and I own an art gallery. But this blog is independent of that gallery, trust me. You'll see. A rising tide lifts all boats - if you buy art from any gallery or artist, we all benefit. However, if you would like to make a trip to Charlottesville, that can be arranged too :-))

You'll hear from me, from Rob, who has the academic creds to speak more authoritatively than me, and from each other. We'll ask people we admire to submit posts, too. And we'll go from there.

Anyway, more soon. I must recover from the birth of this blog with a little wine.
