The glass blowing team of Jeremy Newman and Allison Ciancibelli has been kind enough to send some new pieces of their exquisite artwork to Migration. Understandably, getting glass artwork from their Twisp, Washington studio across the country is never an easy task, so we consider this a real treat. I strongly encourage you to come by the gallery and take a peek at their new work. Here's a view:
Like their other work that has sold to collectors around the world, the forms are simple, earthy and serve as blank slates for their abstract, narrative imagery created by layering colors of glass and adding frit, powdered glass, and steel fibers. The surface is acid-etched, giving the finished piece a soft, matte finish and stone-like appearance. Their work is meant to remind people of our interconnection with nature, with each other, and with our collective past.
Jeremy and Allison have also sent some beautiful vases (sorry no pictures). They are priced $250 for the small ones and $450 for the larger ones. These are a bargain and a great opportunity to own work from the two hottest young glass artists in the country.
For more about their work, read this article or give us a call at Migration.
