Famed American artist Andrew Wyeth passed away in his sleep today. He was 91. Although the art world will sorely miss him, his paintings portraying the hidden melancholy of the people and landscapes of Pennsylvania's Brandywine Valley and coastal Maine will live on.
Wyeth's artwork has been a personal favorite of mine. I believe the importance of his oeuvre dives deeply into the history of art.
"I think one's art goes only as far and as deep as your love goes." - Andrew Wyeth
I love the Wyeths. All of them. Andrew was a master.
